For decades, farmers have relied on the Basket Weeder to enhance early weed control, keeping their fields cleaner with minimal soil disturbance. Designed for inter-row weeding, its rotating wire baskets break up soil and uproot weeds while allowing crops to pass safely between them. It can also be used for stale seedbed preparation by positioning the baskets together to cultivate the entire surface, disrupting weeds before planting.

For tougher conditions, the front basket can be replaced with spyders for better penetration in hard or compacted soil.

60" basket weeders allow for up to 53" of cultivation

80" basket weeders allow for up to 73" of cultivation

Frame Size

The 60 inch Basket Weeder frame is constructed of two side plates, two stainless steel hex shafts, and one set of sprockets and chain. The side plates may be adjusted infinitely along the length of the hex shafts and are typically set to match the width of the seedbed. View Narrow Assembly Instructions

The 80 inch Basket Weeder frame is constructed of two side plates, one center support plate, two stainless steel hex shafts, and a set of sprockets and chains on each end (2). The side plates may be adjusted infinitely along the length of the hex shafts and are typically set to match the width of the seedbed. View Wide Assembly Instructions

For mounting on a 2" square tool bar on Tilmor or category 1 tractors with top link.

Standard Baskets

Tilmor basket wires are made of ¼” zinc-plated spring steel in widths of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches. Configure the Basket Weeder to meet your specific needs or Contact Us for assistance:

  1. Select the basket width to match the crop row width less the desired clearance (ex.: a 13 inch crop row minus 3 inches of clearance on each side of the basket requires a 7 inch basket).
    Note: There must be a front and rear basket, so two 7 inch baskets should be added.
  2. Select the number of baskets needed to work both sides of each row (ex.: number of rows + 1 = number of baskets pairs. 3 rows requires a total of 8 baskets).
